We are so lucky to have met Brittany and Andrew of Barn Arts last night at the Southwest Harbor Library after their performance of ‘Cecily’s Summer’, a local favorite children’s book about a baby seal pup who is rescued and cared for by a woman named Nan.

They invited us out to The Barn tonight for a performance of Shakespeare’s ‘Richard II’ by artists-in-residence Forge, a theater group from New York City. Their performances were absolutely phenomenal—an unexpected and surprising experience in a barn on the quiet side of the island.

The performance was followed up by a cozy fire outside where we met lots of great folks. Tomorrow, we will visit some new friends who live in long houses and wigwams in the forest—we’re excited, to say the least!
