Location
Joshua Tree AutoCamp
62209 Verbena Rd, Joshua Tree, CA 92252, USA
(Meet at the Clubhouse fire pit)
Cosponsored by Joshua Tree National Park Association
Join us around the campfire at AutoCamp Joshua Tree to hear from editors Dave and Ilyssa Kyu of Campfire Stories: Tales from America’s Favorite National Parks, along with readings from several writers featured in the new anthology’s Joshua Tree chapter, including Caryn Davidson, Ruth Nolan, Edward Rosenthal, and Sheree Winslow. Writers will share stories about and inspired by Joshua Tree National Park.
While Campfire Stories: Volume I captured many stories from the first 100 years of the National Park Service, this completely new collection, focused on five different parks (plus two long-distance trails), depicts the parks as we know and experience them today. Contributors represent a range of rich and diverse voices, including from the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.
This event will coincide with and celebrate the release of Campfire Stories: Volume II (available April 2023) and hosted by Autocamp in collaboration with Joshua Tree National Park Association
Food and drink specials will be available for purchase.
